You don’t have to be American (for the record I’m Canadian. Just like Doug Henning) to appreciate this. The image alone should produce shivers. I was eight when Team USA stunned the Soviet Union. Even at that tender age I understood the significance of the victory.
The cover was perfect. No words were needed to describe what happened.
But in case you were living in a tree deep in the Amazon living with Vipers, a bunch of American kids managed to beat a machine made up of Robo-Cop ballet artists.
Easily and hands down one of the great moments in sports history.
