Let’s step away from the Crosvechkin giggling giddiness a second and spare a moment for other great players not getting enough attention.
Why, who can possibly surpass Crosvechkin? How? Where? For the love of Pepin the Short! Who?!
How about Ryan Getzlaf in Anaheim and Eric Staal in Carolina?
These two offensive pillars have galvanized their respective teams into achieving early playoff success.
Getzlaf, make that Getz-pass thanks to his playmaking prowess, has been a pivotal player for the Ducks during their playoff prance. He helped set the tone for Anaheim’s upset victory over the San Jose Barks and currently leads the league with 14 points. Getzlaf is no quack that’s for sure.
As for Staal, Boston may have to come to the realization there’s no stalling him. The spiffilicating Staal has been a kick-starting, ass-kicking, game-concluding force for Car’lina scoring key goal after key goal. Just ask anyone on the New Jersey Devils. Ga’head, ga’head. See what they say.
Sure Crosby and Ovechkin deserve praise for their Disney inspired ice-capades, but Getzlaf and Staal have been every bit as scintillating.
More importantly, they’ve each hoisted the Stanley Cup.
